Cookie policy
Upkyo only uses the cookies our website and client area need to work. No advertising cookies, no tracking.
Cookie Policy
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on upkyo.com, in the client area and in the Upkyo mobile app, and how you can manage them. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Purpose and scope
This policy applies to the upkyo.com website, the client area and the Upkyo mobile app, operated by Upkyo, the trade name of a Limited Liability Company organized under the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, company number 6867626.
It does not apply to websites our customers host on our services. Each customer alone decides which cookies their website sets, tells their visitors about them, and obtains consent where the law requires it.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser when you visit and can read again on later visits. Cookies make it possible, for example, to keep you signed in or remember a preference.
Similar technologies, such as browser local storage or a mobile app’s storage, work the same way. In this policy, “cookies” refers to all of these technologies.
3. Our approach: strictly necessary cookies only
Upkyo only uses cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly requested. Without them, the website, the client area or checkout could not work properly or securely.
Under Article 5, paragraph 3, of the European ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and the national laws that implement it, these cookies do not require your prior consent. That is why our website does not display a cookie consent banner. If we ever add cookies that require consent, we will ask for it before setting them and update this policy.
4. Client area session cookies
When you sign in to the client area, a session cookie identifies you from page to page so you do not have to enter your credentials again. It contains a random identifier, not your password.
This cookie is deleted when you sign out, close your browser or your session expires. If you choose a “remember me” option where one is offered, a dedicated cookie is kept for the period shown at sign-in and then deleted.
5. Form security cookies
Our sign-in, order, checkout and contact forms use security cookies that hold a random token. They confirm that each submission really comes from your browser and protect your account against cross-site request forgery, brute-force login attempts and bots.
These cookies are temporary and are deleted at the end of the session or shortly after the form is submitted.
6. Language and preferences
A cookie or a local storage entry in your browser remembers the language you choose so that the next pages are shown in that language. Other cookies remember display preferences, such as light or dark theme, display currency, or the contents of an order in progress.
This information stays in your browser and is kept for a limited time that matches its purpose. It is used for nothing other than respecting your choices.
7. No advertising cookies or third-party tracking
Upkyo does not set advertising cookies, targeting cookies, social media cookies or any third-party tracking tools. We do not embed advertising pixels, and we do not allow any advertiser or data broker to track your browsing on our website or across other websites.
We do not sell or share information from cookies, and we do not use it to build a profile about you.
8. Stripe and PayPal payments
When you pay by card, the payment form is provided by Stripe. When you pay with PayPal, you are redirected to PayPal or a PayPal window opens. These providers may then set their own cookies, in particular to secure the transaction, authenticate the payer and prevent fraud.
Those cookies are the sole responsibility of Stripe and PayPal and are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review. They are only set when you start a payment, and Upkyo has no access to them.
9. Local storage in the mobile app
The Upkyo mobile app does not use advertising cookies. It stores on your device the information it needs to work: a session token kept in the operating system’s secure storage, your language, light or dark theme, and other display preferences.
This information only leaves your device to authenticate you with our servers. It is deleted when you sign out of the app or uninstall it. The Stripe payment component in the app may use its own technical data to secure the transaction.
10. Managing cookies in your browser
You can view, delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings, usually under privacy or site data. Common browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all offer these controls and explain them in their help pages.
If you block necessary cookies, some features will stop working: in particular, you will not be able to sign in to the client area, place an order or pay online, and your language choice will not be remembered.
11. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We treat a Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. Because we use no advertising cookies or third-party tracking, the signal has no effect on the cookies we set, which remain necessary for the service.
Our website works the same way whether or not Do Not Track is turned on, because it does not track your browsing across other websites.
12. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add a feature that uses a new cookie. The current version is posted on this page with its last updated date. Any change that would require your consent will be presented to you before the cookie is set.
If there is any inconsistency between language versions of this policy, the English version controls, subject to any mandatory provisions that protect you.
13. Contact us
For any question about cookies or your data, email support@upkyo.com or open a ticket from the client area. Mail: Upkyo, 1178 Broadway, 3rd Floor #1249, New York, NY 10001, USA.
